It is with great pride that we announce the receipt of a Presidential Award for outstanding scientific research during the recent Presidential Research Award Ceremony held at BMICH. Dr. Kaushalya Jayaweera graciously accepted the award on behalf of the esteemed team comprising Helena M. S. Zavos, Bethan Dalton, Lisa Harber-Aschan, Gayani Pannala, Anushka Adikari, Stephani L. Hatch, Sisira Siribaddana, Athula Sumathipala, Matthew Hotopf, and Frühling V. Rijsdijk. The recognition is attributed to their paper titled “The relationship between independent and dependent life events and depression symptoms in Sri Lanka: a twin and singleton study” published in Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology, The International Journal for Research in Social and Genetic Epidemiology and Mental Health Services
